Dr. Derek Hirschman, DO

Dr. Hirschman is a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. He is a Michigan native and completed his undergraduate studies at Central Michigan University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and graduated Summa Cum Laude.  He attended medical school at Michigan State University, earned his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine and graduated second in his medical school class.  Finally, Dr. Hirschman completed his dermatology residency at Beaumont Hospital where he served as chief resident. 


Dr. Hirschman is board-certified through the American Board of Dermatology and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, and American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.

Most importantly, Dr. Hirschman is a proud husband and father. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and staying active. 

Matthew T. Zoeteman, PA-C

Dermatology Physician Assistant

Matt Zoeteman is delighted to be joining the caring staff at the Psoriasis & Eczema Treatment Center of Western Michigan as a dermatology physician assistant. A Grand Rapids native, Matt obtained his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Grand Valley State University in 2017. Prior to that, Matt was an orthopedic RN, after graduating from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2014.

In his spare time, Matt enjoys all that Michigan has to offer with his fiancée, Cait, a registered dietitian. He can also be found at the dog beach in Muskegon, with his black lab rescue, Jack, or exploring Grand Rapids on his bike.

He is licensed by the State of Michigan and is board certified by the National Commission of Physician Assistants. Additionally, he is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Michigan Dermatology Physician Assistants. Matt believes that every patient should be treated like family. He is looking forward to meeting with, advocating for, and treating patients for their dermatological conditions.
